Hah! I say. I only have to deal with politics for maybe 5 to 7 more elections before I die and find release from such pathetic voter fodder. You poor folks at your age have to suffer through it many more times than that. With the way it is going now, why don't we just have the news media run the country and do all our thinking for us? I would save us from having to think, to do research on the candidates, and it would always give us some nebulous force "out there" that we could all sit around and blame for all of the ills. Yes, this skit was funny. What's not so funny is that whoever wins, politics will go on as usual. And, whoever you talk to will have voted for the winner because we are all so gutless that we can't even stand up for our own personal convictions or admit we voted for a loser. What we really need is a line on the ballot that says "none of the above". If "none of the above" wins, both sides would have to find new candidates. Major gridlock? Maybe. Opportunity for voters to express their displeasure at a slate of candidates or other political issues? Probably.
